Description: Peace Corps Volunteer Norm Bramble cooking dinner with Bachilya Maya. Bachilya Maya gathered water from the spring down the hill, split wood for our chulo (stove), lipnued the house’s floor with cow dung and clay, etc. Norm Bramble and Gregg Smith built the chulo. Nepalis came by to look at their project and laugh: "Is that the way you make a chulo in America?!" In 2014 Gregg Smith stated “I do not understand why we didn't hire a Nepali to build us a decent chulo!”
