Royal Nepal Airlines Corporation (RNAC) plane at the left is boarding passengers bound for Kathmandu. RNAC plane in the background (on the other side of the runway) is a plane that crashed on landing in May 1969. The crashed plane had damaged its landing gear on an attempted landing in Surkhet and had returned to Nepalganj to attempt a landing on its belly. On landing, the plane turned sharply to the left shearing off both engines, but no one was hurt.
