Note that the plow is pulled by a single bullock, unlike elsewhere in Nepal, India, and China, where two bullocks are standard. One possible explanation is that many of the fields are etched onto narrow terraces on the steep hillsides, leaving inadequate width for more than one bullock. If repayment is delayed, the interest due increases, but the communal sponsorship applies only to the Bartoman for the first born son.
