About Rounds Imaging Services LLC

I've been involved in the photographic arts since when I first began processing slide film in my college dorm room sink. Throughout a career as a software engineer I kept a foot in film and the analog process while exploring the emerging field of digital photography. During this time I continued to take photos whenever possible. Many of these photos were of family and friends that captured their precious lifetime stories. Like most people I discovered my personal photographic history was literally "all over the place".

Soon I opened a business scanning slides and film for local photographers and friends. With my background in software engineering the importance of adding identifying metadata became obvious. With thousands of precious images, photo organizing based on metadata was a natural fit. There are many business that scan slides, film and photos but few help you complete the preservation process by adding metadata to your scans.

Expanding my photographic support services to help others organize their scanned treasures alongside todays digital keepers is the mission of Rounds Imaging. For the last several years I have been donating my services to the Nepal Peace Corp Photo History Project doing precisely that. You can explore the thousands of contributed photos of Nepal from the lens of over 120 Peace Corp volunteers elswhere on this site. These images all contain identifying keywords, descripions and photographer identification. The Nepal Peace Corp Photo History collection is unique in that it is searchable.

The information that makes this possible can add lasting value to your photographs. My rich and varied experience makes me uniquely suited to help guide the preservation of your photos. Meanwhile along the way we will explore the ever changing ways to share these images with the people you know and love. Organizing and protecting your photographic history is the first step in making these memories an important part of your life and legacy.
