Caption: Date: 1971-06 Location: Goganpani, Dailekh Description: Workmen pose before the completed western tower and anchor of a 120' kuchha span over the Bhairi River. The anchor, made of a wooden spool to tighten to cables, is weigted down with tons of rocks following tightening of the cables. Creosote is painted to protect the wood from long-term decay. Inauguration Day was 30 June. The bridge was completely swept away in catastrophic monsoon flooding which obliterated almost all evidence of the bridge on 10 September.
