Caption: Date: 1971-02 Location: Goganpani, Dailekh Description: View of two old swinging (cable) bridges that both need to be replaced (only the nearest one was). The bridge in the foreground, with the deck heading out of the photo to the right, spans the Bhairi River before it joins the Prajuli River. The bridge in the background (with both towers visible, left and right) spans the Prajuli River, above the point where the Bhairi River joins it. After the near bridge was replaced and inaugurated on June 30th, both bridges were swept away in catastrophic monsoon flooding which raised the river bed to a point above the levels of the decks of the two bridges as shown in this photo.
