Caption: Date: 1971-04 Location: Rawutkot, Dailekh Description: Villagers watch as carpenter uses hand braced drill to drill a ½ inch hole in a deck supporting unit (for Chamghat River Suspension Bridge) into which a stringer will be placed to connect the main cables to the supporting units. Drilled holes were subsequently widened slightly by reaming them out with heated stronger rods. Entire 150 feet of 10 foot sections were connected on land to ensure accurate measurement of the drilled holes and assure that the whole deck was properly measured.
