Caption: Date: 1968 Location: Dailekh, Dailekh Description: Old man from Padukasthan shown in profile. His left ear had been almost completely severed (in a freak accident) when he was brought to Peace Corps Volunteer Alan Fairbank for medical treatment. Alan washed it with hot water, applied copious amounts of bacitracin, then wrapped it against his head with bands of gauze and tape around his head. This is the result several months later.
