Description: Typical farm houses located in a terraced area above a corn field. The corn stalks are all that remain after the harvest. The soybean crop, grown along with the corn, will be harvested soon. Two important elements of house construction are shown here. The thatch roof on the house on the left is the much more common roofing material. The slate roof on the building to the right is less common due to the expense and availability of nearby slate.
