Caption: Date; 1967 Location: Biruwa Guthi, Parsa Description: Panchayat house. Two Peace Corps volunteers lived here between September 1966 and May 1967. One Volunteer continued to live here through July 1968. The U.S. Ambassador to Nepal (Carol Laise) and the U.S. Ambassador to South Vietnam (Ellsworth Bunker) slept in the shed, attached to the right of the panchayat house, on their honeymoon visit to the village in early 1967. The picture is facing west, with rice mill, setting sun and threshing area to the right of the house.
