Description: Dogs eating a dead cow, with a vulture waiting for a turn in the background. Often dogs and vultures openly compete for pieces of the carcass. Twenty-four hours after death, nothing of the animal is left but bones. About twice a year, bullock carts come through the villages to pick up the bones and take them to India where they are used for fertilizer. Picture is taken toward the northwest. Nepal foothills in background; far right is a snow capped mountain in the Himalayas. Trees in the background may be the start of the jungle area.
