Caption: Date: 1966-1968 Location, Biruwa Guthi, Parsa Description: Men pressing marijuana plants to flatten them for transport by bullock cart to India. Marijuana cultivation was intensive and it was a valuable crop. After the plants were harvested, they were brought to the threshing area and the men would gather in this fashion to flatten them. This activity went on for long periods of time and was quite festive. The picture was taken at the threshing area behind the panchayat house.
