The demonstration was conducted between June and September 1967, in Biruwa Guthi Panchayat. It may have been on the land of Deo Nun Choudary in the village of Solukpur. The demonstration plot used Taichung Native-1 rice. The rice was planted in rows so that weeding could be done by using a machine. Taichung Native-1 was introduced in Nepal in the late 1960s.
