Caption: Date: 1967-3 Location: Meghauli, Chitwan Description: Indian logging crew at Pitauji Ghat on the Narayani River about 8 miles downstream from Narayanghar. Sal (Shorea robusta) logs were cut on the west side of the river where there was no road access. They were brought to the river and floated across suspended from poles on a boat. Sal logs do not float when freshly cut. From here they were loaded on a truck and taken to India via Hetauda. Here the crew is rolling a log onto the shore from the river.
