Caption: Date: 1968-11 Location: Myagdi Description: A pack train of ponies on the historic transHimalayan salt trade route on a steep mountainside trail above the Kali Gandaki River. These pack trains were run by men from Thak Khola, in upper Mustang District near the Tibet border. They traditionally bartered Tibetan rock salt for rice from the hills and lowlands of Nepal.
