Caption: Date: 1966-07 Location: Mustang Description: Yak and Dzo (yak cross breed) herders in the mist, high up on the trail to Dhampas Pass above Tukuche village in Thak Khola, Mustang, drawing blood to drink from a live cow. After drawing several cupfuls, they patched the small puncture mark in the animal's neck with cow dung, then turned her loose again. They say that drinking 'live blood' gives one added strength.
