Caption: Date: 1969 Location: Sahartara, Dolpa Description: A woman (in blue blouse) gesticulates and hurls verbal abuse at the man squatting on the ground. He is from a family which has just stolen the woman's sister as a bride, and the woman is very angry. Note that the man does not argue back, and does not even look at his abuser. He is somewhat embarrassed by what she is saying, but he does not allow her to go up the ladder to the room where the stolen bride is being held. After several hours the woman is exhausted and leaves, and a feast is held by the man's family, indicating that the marriage has been completed.
