Caption: Date: 1968 Location: Surkhet Description: This photo was taken in the mountains north of Surkhet Valley. The men were carrying bridge cable to a construction site in the Dialekh area. The two-day trek required great strength to snake the heavy cable up the steep slopes and down the precipitous descents on the trip. And not shown in the photo are the other 15 or 20 men carrying the rest of the 200 or so feet of cable.
