Description: Siwakoti Niwas. An Assam-type house and separate cookhouse in Parakhopi, a small community outside the market village of Sanischare in Jhapa. House constructed of sal wood frame with galvanized, corrugated steel hip roof. Upper story windows had glass shutters. The walls consist of stuccoed bamboo-weaved infills. Lower level windows had paneled shutters. View from the neighbor's stilt-house. Assam-type building designs were introduced by the British during the Colonial era.
