Caption: Date: 1976 Location: Kathmandu, Kathmandu Description: The self-styled “Global Emperor” who dressed in an antique overcoat and a black Nepali cap (topi). He was also decked out with beads and badges and he wore a ring on most of his fingers. He carried a file filled with directives written in his own hand (usually in English) on the backs of pictures of Hindu gods. He was usually seen on Naya Sadak (“New Road”), Basantapur or Durbar Square and was quick to befriend foreign visitors and backpackers.
