Caption: Date: 1970-1971 Location: Sakhuwa Parsauni, Parsa Description: Parsauni village well. Note the round rings around the base of the well--to balance earthen jugs brought to the well for water. Virtually all of the people in Parsauni are Tharu, a tribal group of the Nepali forests, and now the Terai. Here where they form the majority population, they consider themselves Chhetris, members of the warrior caste.
