Caption: Date: 1970-1971 Location: Sakhuwa Parsauni, Parsa Description: Shripur village. Indra Mauni Das walks to the well to draw water. To the left of the well note the wooden post or lingam, symbol of male fertility to accompany the well's female symbolism. In the background a dovecote is visible. Immature doves are cooked and eaten as a special meal. Typical Terai construction house behind the dovecote is wattle and daub construction, white-washed, with thatch roof. Indra Mauni's house, on right, is a step up; it has a more durable tile roof.
