Caption: Date: 1970-1971 Location: Sakhuwa Parsauni, Parsa Description: In Shripur, a Tharu village. A woman and young girl work outside a real sign of wealth--a brick house. The rubble against the house is likely bricks left over from the construction. The large clay "vases" in the foreground were probably used for grain storage; the woman appears to be constructing them of clay and straw. In the background a man's dhoti dries in the sun and on the roof of the building gourds are stored. Nice woven baskets behind the woman in the foreground.
