Date: 1970 Location: Gaunsahar, Lamjung Description: Lamjung Durbar and Kalika Temple (the tallest building), along with secondary and elementary public schools (in front.) The schools were later relocated to another site in Gaunsahar to open up the temple grounds for festivals. Looking north to the Marsyangdi River Valley below and the Manaslu massif beyond. The durbar was the historic 1500's fortress of Yasho Brahma Shah, whose son Drabya Shah established the Shah dynasty in Gorkha, in direct line with Prithvi Narayan Shah, who expanded the kingdom throughout Nepal.
