Description: Village leaders pose beneath banner erected to commemorate a visit of King Mahendra to Bhojpur. These are the school headmaster, the bank officers, and the Barda Hakim, among others. The sign reads "Sri Panch, Maharaj.....Jaya" which roughly translates "Hail to the King." We used to joke that more village improvements were made within a week of the King's visit than in a year otherwise.
