Description: Ang Lhakpa and son-in-law Nawang Sherpa prepare potato pancakes (riki-cour) on smokeless chulo. Nawang is grinding garlic greens, with salt and some cream for a sauce. Note the copper water container in the far back middle. A pipe from it coils through the stove to pre-heat the water. In 1994 the house had electricity but not yet running water.
