Description: Kanchha Sherpa sits next to the Lama of the Thyangboche Monastery. They were old friends from childhood and warmly joked with each other as well as showed mutual respect. The Lama predicted a long life for Kanchha (he is 82 in 2014) if he stopped drinking and did good religious deeds (like having mani stones carved) both of which Kanchha did.
