Date: 1967 Location: Bharatpur, Chitwan Description: Krishna Lal Pradhan (known widely as "Krishna Bhai"), then a teacher at Chitwan High School, with his first three children Rajan, Rajib and Jala, in front of the Bal Kumari School in Naryanghat. Krishna Bhai later taught Nepali to many Peace Corps volunteers, then received support for graduate study in linguistics at Oxford and the University of Wisconsin - Madison where he taught Nepali for many years until his retirement; his wife Bishnu supported them in the US first by selling Nepali food from a pushcart on the university campus, then founding the Himalchuli Restaurant, one of the most longstanding and widely loved Nepali restaurants in the U.S., in Madison with her sister Jamuna Shrestha.
