In the foreground, property owner Jiv Nath Sedhai, who owned the building across the street, photographed with the shopkeepers who rented from him. The school has since been expanded into a large enclosed compound, with shops on the ground floor along the street (in front of the 1967 building) paying rent to support the school on the upper floor which is accessible only from the compound behind.
