Because of land reform just having been instituted he was the beneficiary of a reasonable plot of his own land,and was eager to try the new varieties of rice, wheat and use fertilizer. Peace Corps Volunteer,Steve Mott worked with him to set up demonstration plots along side the road so other farmers could observe the results. He was a model farmer and a wonderful man.
