Caption: Date: 1967-1968 Location: Yaku, Bhojpur Description: House of Bhadra Kali Dhakal, unusual since it was in the hills and constructed in the style of the then prevalent terai houses, with room for cattle in the ground level and wooden quarters for people above. For many years, Bhadra Kali Dhakal was a timber contractor in the eastern terai. He donated the land for the construction of the village school and allowed his home to be used for the village Health Centre. When he returned to the hills, he continued to allow the Health Centre to use his house and built these more modest quarters for himself, in the compound of his father's house.
