Description: Back side of the Panchayat House,Biruwa Guthi Panchayat. Biruwa Guthi is a small village west of Jitpur, which is on the hardtop road that leads to Birgunj. The house was occupied by two Peace Corps Volunteers from October 1966 to May, 1967, and one Volunteer continued to live there until August 1968. The house was one room with a covered front porch; it had clay tiled roof and walls were mixture of clay, dung and straw. Threshing activity occurred regularly, left front. A weekly market occurred in front of the house (the structures to the right, back may have been part of the market). The village of Biruwa is toward the east (just below the sun).
