Caption: Date: 1970-1972 Location: Hile, Dhankuta Description: Hile from the northeast, looking southwest. The barren hillside to the northeast of Hile is in the foreground, with terraces just behind. Hile (6,500 feet) is in the center of this picture, on the ridge. Clouds coming from the south over the ridge were less typical than coming from the north side. Hile's water came from a pipe out of the hillside to the left of the ridge, a couple of hundred feet below. The ridge in the back, left goes to Dhankuta; the ridge on the right side of the hill goes toward the west, through Utter Pani and Chunmung.
