Caption: Date: 1970-1971 Location: Sakhuwa Parsauni, Parsa Description: Outside a Tharu village. Green bricks are being stacked for firing. The process takes place wherever there is good clay for brick-making. One can see the stubble in the field from the previous year's crops. Unfortunately, the process sometimes stopped at this point: the home-builder would run out of money and the pile of fired bricks would bake in the sun and weather in the wind and rain.
