Description: North west side of Namche. The Gompa is in the upper right hand corner. Note new and colorful windows in the Gompa. The trail to Thame leads off to the left from the Gompa. Kanchha and Ang Lhakpa Sherpa's house is just below the single house in the middle, also to the left of the 3 story hotel. All houses have running water and electricity. The town wisely chose to raise extra money and underground all electric wires. Note activity of Tibetan traders at the bottom middle of the photo. Large amounts of Chinese goods are available and Tibetans seem to easily move back and forth across the border.
