Description: All creatures welcome in Bandipur bazar. Notice slate paving and substantial homes. The first floor of most of these homes housed a shop of one kind or another - cloth, tea, medicine, food, sundry items. Bandipur was a two or three day trek from Narayangarh in the Terai and a six hour trek from Palungtar airfield. Bandipur had no electricity at the time. The town did have a water purification and distribution system. Water flowed to community taps for approximately an hour in the morning, at midday, and in the evening.
