Date: 1965-05 Location: Kaski Description: Three porters, likely from the same family on trail from Bandipur to Pokhara. The porters would sing songs all day on the trail. At one point, they asked “How many days trek to America, Sir?” (Ron Ranson’s answer: “Every day for two years - hajur”) On top of their baskets are aluminum pots used for cooking their meals on the trail. The tins below are likely filled with ghee (clarified butter). Other provisions not found in their remote village are probably in the sewn-up burlap sacks.
