Date: 1965-05 Location: Kaski Description: Picture of family that Peace Corps Volunteer Ron Ranson met in a village near Pokhara. The family insisted that he stay with them for the night as they had never met an American. Early the next morning, about 18 villagers gathered around him to give condolences on the death of President Kennedy, which had happened two years earlier. They had been waiting for an American to pass through the village so they could offer their respects. For breakfast, the family bought eight eggs for themselves and Ranson. As there were nine family members and Ranson total, Ranson told them he didn’t eat eggs on that day, Tuesday. The family ate the eight eggs.
